The short version.
We keep what you write on our forms, we use it to answer you and to run the work you asked for, and we neither sell it nor mention you to your university. That is the whole of the arrangement. What follows is the same promise at greater length.
What the desk collects.
Requests: your name, your email, your programme and university, the section you chose, and whatever you tell us about the situation. Subscriptions: an email address. Affiliate applications: your name, email, where your readers are, and the programme you finished with us.
The site itself keeps no accounts, sets no tracking cookies of its own, and runs no advertising pixels. Ordinary server logs exist as they do for every website, and they rotate out on the host's usual schedule.
What it is used for.
To send the quote you asked for, deliver the Edition you subscribed to, or process the application you filed. Editors see the particulars of your engagement on a need-to-know basis, and every editor works under a standing confidentiality agreement.
We never write to your university, your employer, or anyone else about you. Billing descriptors are discreet. Where a referral is involved, the person referred is never told who referred them, and the referrer learns nothing beyond an anonymous credit.
What the desk will not do.
We do not sell, rent or trade what you give us. We do not name clients in letters or marketing: initials and desks only, which is why the mailbag reads the way it does. Addresses given for a quote receive no marketing mail; the Edition goes only to those who asked for it.
Keeping and removing it.
Records are kept while an engagement is live and afterwards for our books. Write to desk@scribehall.com from the address on file and we will delete your contact record and remove you from any list you are on. Every Edition carries an unsubscribe link that works on the first press.
